I CONTAIN MULTITUDES

 I CONTAIN MULTITUDES

Group exhibition

21 January - 21 February 2018

East of Elsewhere's first group show borrows its name from Walt Whitman’s 'Song of Myself':

Do I contradict myself?
Very well then I contradict myself,
(I am large, I contain multitudes.)

East of Elsewhere began 2018 with an affirmative gesture, grounded in a similar embrace of multitudes. Artists and poets were invited to respond to Whitman, or simply contribute to the multitude of the show. The exhibition was activated with an open house on January 20th with hourly poetry readings.
